Derry Soccer Club’s Hawks Recreation program offers players the opportunity to learn the game of soccer while competing against other players from Derry and surrounding communities.
If your player is starting out in the sport, or just looking for a way to stay active, Hawks is the perfect program to play in.

Program Details
U4 Hawks
This is our into to soccer program. Players range in age from almost 3 to 4 years old.
Saturday sessions are run by our volunteer coaching staff and focus on teaching our little ones how much fun it is to suit up and come play soccer!
Sessions are 1 hour and include lots of fun games to get our newest players moving.
Parent involvement is highly encouraged!
Size 3 ball.
U6 Hawks
U6 introduces a team element, and players are assigned a team and volunteer parent coaches to practice with each week.
Saturday sessions include a 30 minute training session followed by a 30 minute game.
Players stay on one side of the field with their team and coach, while friends and family watch from the outer sideline.
Soccer cleats, socks and shin guards are now required, along with a Size 3 soccer ball.

U8 Hawks
U8 adds in group practices and referees for games.
Games are played on Saturdays in four 12-minute quarters. Format is 6v6 with goalies (no punting). Throw-ins, corner kicks, and goal kicks are all observed. Opposing players clear to half for goal kicks. Referees are expected to provide guidance to players in this low-pressure environment to help them learn the fundamentals of the sport.
Scores are not reported.

U10 Hawks
(SNH Rec Soccer League)
U10 is the next step in our player evolution and introduces travel in some seasons.
We continue with group practices and games are run by a single referee. Games are played in two 25-minute halves. Format is 7v7 with goalies (no punting). Opposing players clear to build out line/center line for goal kicks. No offside, all other rules apply. Scores are reported by coaches. Referees are responsible for reporting any send-offs (red cards).
Size 4 ball.
U12 Hawks
(SNH Rec Soccer League)
U12 is true recreational travel in the Southern New Hampshire Recreational League. Teams compete against neighboring towns within 45 minutes of Derry. Playoffs are included for seasons having 5+ teams in the grouping. 2 ARs accompany the center referee. Games are played in two 30-minute halves. Format is 9v9 with goalies. Offside will be called and all other rules apply. Scores are reported by coaches. Referees are responsible for reporting any send-offs (red cards).
Size 4 ball.
U15 & U18 Hawks
(SNH Rec Soccer League)
U15 & U18 continue with our SNHREC League. Playoffs are included for seasons having 5+ teams in the grouping. A center referee and 2 ARs officiate all games. Games are played in two 45-minute halves. Format is 11v11 with goalies. All rules of the game apply. Scores are reported by coaches. Referees are responsible for reporting any cautions (yellow cards) or send-offs (red cards), as these age groups are more physical in nature of play.

Equipment Needed
Hawks jerseys can be purchased for $25.50 during registration, and will be given out by the team's coach during the first week of the season.
All players will need:
-Soccer Cleats
-Shin guards
-Soccer ball
U4, U6 and U8 use a Size 3 ball.
U10 and U12 use a Size 4 ball.
U15 and U18 use a Size 5 ball.
